If you’re looking for a babysitting partner for a child, here’s what you should know.

And that’s an alarming trend that’s prompting the American Association of Children’s Services to issue a statement this week that it wants more states to mandate the hiring of babysitters for children under age 6.
The group’s chief executive, Anne McLean, said the job of babysitter has changed so much in recent years that the market has become more competitive.
She said the number for babysitting was up to 1.5 million in 2016 and to 4.3 million in 2017, a 25% increase.
The job of a babysitters is not just about babysitting children, but also providing them with social and emotional support, including emotional, physical and intellectual stimulation, and providing emotional support with daily chores and housekeeping, McLean said.
The average babysitter spends $250 per day on transportation and housework, and $200 per day for meals and other supplies, she said.
The number of jobs is up only about 1% since the summer of 2017, when there were more than 1.2 million babysitters in the U.S., according to the Census Bureau.
It’s down nearly 2% since June 2018, when the number was about 1.7 million.
In the first half of 2019, more than 6,500 jobs were created for babysitters, according to an AP analysis of data from the U-Haul, the country’s largest delivery company.
The jobs that are available for hiring in 2018 include housekeepers, maids, gardeners, housekeepers’ aides and others who are required to have the skills of a preschool teacher, according in a statement.
They can do the work from home, Mclean said.
She said more states are working on requirements that require babysitters to be licensed, have the necessary training, have social skills and have the social skills to work with a wide range of children, from toddlers to young adults.
The most recent job posting by the Associated Press said that the majority of jobs are held by babysitters and are available at $35 an hour.
McLean said that while the overall employment for babysitter positions is up, the numbers are still down.
She also said that in recent months, more companies have moved away from the traditional babysitter position.
The AP is not naming the companies because the companies would not identify them.
The jobs are available only to people who have a bachelor’s degree or higher and have at least six months of experience, the AP said.
