By JEFF JOHNSONAPENPORT — As the NBA offseason approaches, we can look back at some of the biggest moves of the past few weeks, and LeBron James and LeBron Jr. could be among them.
As we approach the end of LeBron James’ first full season in Cleveland, the Cavaliers superstar and his teammates are in a good spot, according to sources.
James, who averaged 27.6 points and 5.6 assists this past season, is set to become a free agent in 2020 and has expressed a desire to return to the Cavaliers, according a source.
The Cavaliers are likely to make a big push for James to return.
He is scheduled to make $14 million this year and will make a $10 million offer for 2020.
The Cavs are also expected to make another push to acquire LeBron Jr., who averaged 17.3 points and 6.7 rebounds in his first season with the Cavs.
The 6-foot-11 forward, who is a free-agent in 2020, will be under contract through 2020.
He has said he wants to be in Cleveland for a long time.
James and James Jr., both of whom will be in their second full seasons with the team, are set to sign with a new NBA franchise next season.
The two will have a chance to compete for a spot on the 2020 roster.
James, who had been traded to the Orlando Magic before the season, has expressed interest in returning to Cleveland and playing for the Cavs, per sources.
He will likely be the first of James’ future NBA teammates to leave the Cavaliers.
James was a finalist for the 2017 NBA Most Valuable Player award.

James Jr. was a top-10 pick in the 2015 NBA draft.
James Jr.’s emergence during the 2016-17 season as one of the league’s best scorers and guards made him an NBA All-Defensive team selection.
James also earned All-NBA second-team honors and earned All of the USA Basketball’s FIBA World Cup honors.
He also earned the MVP trophy for the U.S. team in the FIBA Americas Championship in Mexico City.
